STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION OF THE CRANIUM

Training for physiotherapists, physicians, osteopaths, neurologopedists, massage therapists, and students of the above fields.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This training is designed for therapists who want to learn how to work on the cranium, a method that can effectively influence its shape and existing asymmetries.

Through gentle and precise rotational and balancing movements, the therapist introduces changes in tension within the layers of fascia. These changes affect the relationships of bony elements as well as their internal stresses and deformations.

Ida Rolf worked on the cranium in one of the Structural Integration sessions together with Sharon Wheeler, her direct student. Wheeler further developed this approach toward gentle reshaping of cranial asymmetries in children. The seventh session is considered a central element within the ten-session process of structural integration.

The main protocol of this session originates from Dr. Rolf, enriched with several unique bone-changing techniques developed specifically for the cranium by Sharon Wheeler. These bone change techniques are direct and can be expected to create significant structural transformations.

Other specialised cranial techniques include holds for the mandible, zygomatic arch, orbits, and the atlas/axis relationship. We will also address the nose, ears, and other anterior cervical structures.

During the training, you will learn:

  • Detailed anatomy of the region – short, intensive presentations providing fresh perspectives on anatomical structures, supported by cadaveric dissection recordings and palpatory anatomy, explained in an engaging and accessible manner.
  • Postural analysis – recognition of frequent postural and movement consequences, learning how to observe and interpret the complexity of individual patterns.
  • Myofascial release techniques – each technique is demonstrated with clarity and precision to ensure participants can implement them immediately in daily therapeutic practice.

The training includes:

  • References to the sources of knowledge upon which the program is based.
  • A theoretical component with visualisation and detailed explanation.
  • Group discussion, exchange of observations, and good practices.
  • Testing and refining your skills during practical exercises.
  • Recommendations and guidance for self-study after the course.

ABOUT WOJTEK CACKOWSKI

Wojciech (Wojtek) Cackowski is a certified practitioner of Structural Integration (ATSI), with an educational background in sports education and physiotherapy. With over ten years of experience, he combines manual therapy and yoga with myofascial therapy. He is the founder of the Zoga Movement® project, influenced by in-depth research on the layered movement of fascia anatomy, conducted on cadavers.

As a certified Scarwork, Bonework teacher, and specialist in structural integration, he contributes to clinical applications for neurological children, scoliosis, and foot specialists.

Currently, Wojtek is teaching Scarwork and Bonework methods and collaborating with medical specialists in Ukraine. His efforts focus on helping patients with scars and infants in the neonatology department, which represents another example of his commitment to holistic healthcare.
